Hiding

Hiding is a three piece cycle built on a dense interweaving of guitars, interactive computer driven drums, synthesizers, and layered vocals. It was released as a short album, “Hiding”, in July 2020 which was inspired by the state of the world surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. The soundworld of this piece is inspired by the movements of noisecore, glitch, and punk musics. Through the noisy texture of “Can You Hear The Hiding?”, the idea of hiding is displayed in a variety of ways – from hiding in a soundscape, hiding within effects, hiding flaws in technique, and hiding personal feelings. The irony of this piece is that it not only addresses these issues as a critique, but it also exhibits them, satirically, within its own composition.
